Janakkala is located at the center of Finland’s growth corridor, a logistical hotspot from which all of Southern Finland is easily accessible. The growth corridor is the largest continuous working and economic area in the country, home to 41.5% of Finns and containing 43.9% of all businesses in Finland.

About 950 companies operate in Janakkala, ranging from large factories to networked sole proprietors. Janakkala’s industrial tradition is unique; the oldest still-operating paper mill in Finland was established in Tervakoski in 1818, followed later by the famous sugar and ice cream factories of Turengi.
