KiVa school

- Bullying is when a single student is repeatedly and intentionally caused distress.
- The perpetrators are someone or some people against whom the bullied student finds it difficult to defend themselves.
- KiVa School is a nationwide program developed with funding from the Ministry of Education, strongly based on research data, designed as a tool for educators to combat bullying.
- In various classes, KiVa school program sessions are held for all 7th graders. In preventing bullying, it is important to support community, class spirit, and empathy development. This purpose is also served by a year-long group-building program conducted in collaboration with the youth department.
- In the first phase, the teacher, homeroom teacher, or supervisor who has witnessed the bullying situation determines whether it is a conflict or a bullying situation. An incident report is prepared.
- In extreme situations, especially if there is violence involved, the matter is referred to the authorities.
- If it is bullying, the matter is taken up by the KiVa team. The KiVa team works in cooperation with the Anchor police.
- Our school uses a bullying condemnation method (KT) suitable for upper secondary school students. It acknowledges that bullying has occurred and assumes that it will cease immediately. Furthermore, follow-up measures are agreed upon.
- Bullying is monitored through a bullying survey conducted at least once a school year and through various discussions.
