Janakkala has a total of 29 playgrounds; Turenki has 17, Tervakoski has 10, and Leppäkoski and Harviala have one each. All playgrounds are freely available for anyone to use.

Safety of playground equipment

Inspections are conducted on playground equipment before they are put into use.

Visual inspections are necessary at playgrounds particularly prone to vandalism. We hope that parents report any issues to the number displayed on the playground’s notice board. Each playground has a notice board with contact information, emergency number, as well as the name and address of the location. If the notice board is currently missing, it has been removed due to vandalism. A missing notice board will be reinstalled in the spring.

After winter, the equipment is inspected and maintained as needed. In spring, all play sand is replaced and the amount of safety sand around the play equipment is checked and added as necessary. Inspections and permitted repairs are conducted by a person trained in playground equipment safety. Safety documents have been prepared for the playgrounds. A health inspector also checks the playgrounds annually. You can find information about the construction and maintenance of playgrounds under Infrastructure construction.

Reports of possible vandalism at playgrounds should be directed to the maintenance work manager.
