The 500 euro and 250 euro summer job vouchers have been distributed for this spring!

A: The summer job voucher is a 250 euro support paid by the municipality to the employer who hires for a summer job:

  • for a resident of Janakkala aged 15–24, born between 2001 and 2010, for at least 2 weeks between May 1 and August 31, 2025.
  • the net salary (i.e., the amount left for the young person) must be at least 500 euros.

B: The summer job voucher is a 500 euro support paid by the municipality to the employer who hires for a summer job:

  • for a resident of Janakkala aged 15–24, born between 2001 and 2010, for at least 4 weeks between May 1 and August 31, 2025.
  • the net salary (i.e., the amount left for the young person) must be at least 1000 euros.
  • the 500 euro support is limited to one support per company.

Please note that for a young person under 15, the employment contract must be signed by a guardian or the young person themselves with the guardian’s consent!

Additionally:

  • The summer job voucher must be applied for by the young person in advance. The voucher application form and further information can be obtained from the youth services from Jenni Salomaa, 050 472 1230. The vouchers are distributed in the order of application.
  • The location of the company does not matter; the hiring company can be located outside the young person’s home municipality.
  • Only one summer job voucher is available per young person. The voucher is personal and cannot be transferred to another person. The voucher is only valid in the company to which it was granted.
  • The employer can be a company or an association that has a business ID. The municipality, private household, family, or private individual cannot act as an employer.
  • One employer can use a maximum of 4 pieces of 250 € or 1 piece of 500 € from the same municipality’s summer job voucher, meaning the employer can hire a total of four young people or one young person with the summer job voucher for the summer.
  • If it turns out that the summer job voucher will not be used, it must be returned to youth work to Jenni Salomaa for redistribution.

Fill out the summer job voucher application together with the employer. Make sure that all information is correct in the application.

After filling out the application, the youth welfare coordinator Jenni Salomaa will send you the summer job voucher by email.

The employer must return the numbered summer job voucher along with the payslip by mail by October 31, 2025, to Juttilantie 1, 14200 Turenki. The name of the youth welfare coordinator Jenni Salomaa must be written on the envelope.

Payment of the summer job voucher after the employment relationship ends:

  • The employer must return the numbered summer job voucher and the payslip for the paid salary to the young person by October 31, 2024, to the youth services of Janakkala municipality, Jenni Salomaa, at Juttilantie 1, 14200 Turenki.
  • Janakkala municipality will pay the support to the account specified by the employer. The support to be paid to the employer is 250/500 euros/voucher and will be paid when the voucher is returned by the requested date. If the conditions of the summer job voucher are not met (for example, the required net salary or the length of the employment relationship is not fulfilled), the support cannot be paid.

According to Section 3 of Chapter 1 of the Employment Contracts Act, an employment contract can be made orally, in writing, or electronically. We recommend making a written contract.

According to Section 7 of Chapter 6 of the Employment Contracts Act, “at the end of the employment relationship, the employee has the right to request a written certificate from the employer regarding the duration of the employment relationship and the nature of the work tasks. At the express request of the employee, the certificate must also state the reason for the termination of the employment relationship and an assessment of the employee’s work skills and behavior. The certificate must not contain anything other than what is evident from its wording.”
