Terms of Use for Library Facilities
The Janakkala municipal library rents facilities to external parties for various events. The Janakkala municipal library consists of the Janakkala main library, the Tervakoski library, and the Janakkala mobile library. The main library has three rentable spaces: exhibition room, library lobby, and teaching room.
1.1 Library Spaces
- The library has rentable and open spaces.
- Events held in an open space must be agreed upon on a case-by-case basis with the library.
- Reservations for rentable spaces must be agreed upon with the library staff.
1.2 Spaces, Equipment, and Furnishings
- The maximum number of people allowed in the space must not be exceeded.
- The person responsible for the reservation must ensure that the door is locked when leaving the space.
- The person responsible must ensure that there are no outsiders in the space when leaving.
- The arrangement of furniture in the reserved space can be changed, but it must be returned to its original form during the reservation period. Chairs and tables taken from the chair storage must be returned to their original places. The grand piano in the lobby must not be moved.
- Staff must be notified immediately of malfunctioning or broken equipment and other technical problems.
- In case of problems, first contact the library staff, but outside library opening hours, contact property maintenance.
- In case of disturbances, contact the security company. Contact details can be found on the main library’s sliding door.
1.3 Responsibility and Liability
- The event organizer is responsible for the use of the space and maintaining order.
- The event organizer is liable for damages caused to the property or inventory during the reservation period. Damages must be reported immediately to the library staff.
- A fee will be charged for any cleaning or arrangement work that may arise from the use of the spaces, according to the incurred costs.
- The library is not responsible for damages caused to the customers’ own instruments, devices, or files during the use of the spaces.
- The library is not responsible for items left in the library’s spaces.
1.4 Content and Nature of the Event
- The content or nature of the organized event must not be in conflict with Finnish law or contrary to good manners.
- Spaces are not rented for racist or discriminatory activities against groups of people. The event organizer agrees to adhere to the principles of a safer space in the venue.
- During the election quarantine, public events of individual parties may not be organized.
- The use of library spaces follows the Assembly Act (22.4.1999/530) and instructions and regulations issued by authorities regarding public spaces, as well as instructions and orders from the police and rescue services.
- The event held in the space must not disturb other library activities, customers, or users.
1.5 Free Library Spaces
The library’s free spaces are available for use during library opening hours, but users must adhere to the library’s rules.
1.6 Compliance with Terms of Use
The library has the right, at its discretion, to deny the event organizer access to the reserved space or to interrupt the event held in the reserved space if it becomes apparent that the aforementioned rules are being violated or have been violated.
