The second Tervakoski short film competition will take place in spring 2025!

This year’s theme for the competition is TOGETHER. The method of film production is free. 

The short film competition is open to students of Janakkala municipality. Participants can join individually, with a partner, in a group, or as a class.

There are three categories:

1. Elementary School
2. Middle School
3. High School

The top three in each category will receive cash prizes. The best films will be selected by a distinguished jury. The audience will also have the chance to vote for their favorite.

A big thank you to all the children and youth of our community who participated in the Tervakoski short film competition! The popularity of the competition, especially in the elementary school category, surprised the film team itself, and it has been wonderful to see how boldly and eagerly participants engaged in the competition. Over 80 participants registered in the elementary school category, and ultimately, more than 30 short films were created in that category. There were over 20 registered in the middle and high school categories, with a total of 15 short films submitted.

The winning films will be chosen by a prize jury, which includes Janakkala’s municipal manager Riikka Moilanen, actress Henna-Maija Alitalo, and cartoonist, visual artist Ilkka Vuojala.

The top three in each prize category will receive cash prizes:

1. 1st place 400 euros
2. 2nd place 200 euros
3. 3rd place 100 euros

Additionally, the winner of the audience vote will be awarded from each category.

The main celebration of the short film competition will be held at the Delfort arena in Tervakoski on April 10, 2025.
