Foreign job seekers
If you become unemployed
On your first day of unemployment you should register as an unemployed jobseeker through the TE Services’ E-Services. You can sign into the E-service with your personal banking codes, a mobile certificate from your mobile operator or your smart ID card.
You must update and edit all information related to your job search by E-services. There you will also find information from Janakkala’s employment services or from TE Office. You can also make changes to your job search.

If you are unable to sign into E-services and you are a new jobseeker, you can visit the TE Office or Janakkala’s employment services.
Jobseekers’ services during the local government trials
Janakkala is participating in the local government trial which means that many employment services are offered by Janakkala muncipality in exchange for TE Office. The local government trial will start on 1st March 2021 and end on 30th June 2023.
How do you know whether you are a customer of the local government trial?
You do not need to find out yourself – if you are a customer of the trial, you will be notified of it either by letter or electronically through the E-service.
Who are customers in the local government trial?
You are a customer in a local government trial if you have registered as a jobseeker and you are unemployed, laid-off, employed or enrolled in a service promoting employment and belong to one of the following groups:
- you are not entitled to an earnings-related allowance
- you are under 30 years of age
- you speak a language other than Finnish, Swedish or Sami, or you are an immigrant
Validity of employment plan and the E-Service
The plan you made at the TE Office obliges you to become a customer of the local government trial until a new employment plan is drawn up with you.
